Tahanang is a home and livelihood project for people with disabilities, founded in 1973 by Belgian nun Sr. Valeriana Baerts. The name is Tagalog for "The House With No Steps" and the fully wheelchair accessible site is now home to more than 90 people with disabilities who manufacture wheelchairs and other mobility aids, educational toys and games and a range of handicrafts. There is also a pharmaceutical packaging facility onsite, but I wasn't allowed to take photos there.

Beautiful photos! Curious about the secret pharmaceutical packaging – what kind of pharma?
The company is Unilab. They send prescription and over the counter pills for repacking in locally specific packaging. I believe that the pharmaceutical company only allow photos to be taken by their own authorised individuals because of fears of misinterpretation or misrepresentation by journalists who might accuse them of exploitation. In fact the packaging facility is clean and well run and I was told currently provides the most reliable source of income for Tahanang. There’s a little bit of info about Unilab’s Ritemed Initiative here
