Got Your Back

You told my saddest story

In front of all of our friends

As if it was your moment of glory

A romance with a happy end.

And I couldn’t leave your wedding table

Cos’ I knew that the others might see

And find themselves quite unable

To resist running off after me.

The irony is that I now see the beauty,

How everything turned out just fine.

Cos’ she may have had your back, mush,

But everybody else had mine.
